Biography:Gordon Jones has lived in Glanaman most of his life and decided to become a town councillor to serve the local community. He follows in a family tradition established by his late mother, Mrs Elsie Jones who served as a Cwmaman Town Councillor for many years and was Mayor of Cwmaman on two occasions: 2001-02 and 2006-07. Gordon was a support worker for 16 years before setting up his own roofing company located at the former Central Garage in Glanaman. In the years that have followed his business has created a number of jobs for local people. He believes that every effort should be made to create new employment opportunities in Cwmaman and that the tourism industry should be embraced as a major contribution to the local economy.
