This is Rob Venus and I'm the Community Development Officer (CDO) for Cwmaman Town Council. My role is often as diverse as the community I work for but my primary objectives are to:
- Engage with our community and gather the views, needs, ideas and issues faced by our residents.
- To collaborate, research and develop projects and interventions which seek to improve the lives of local residents.
- To provide support and guidance to individuals, groups and organisations on topics ranging from funding and data through to helping you access the services you require or register your new business.
I provide regular monthly reports to the Councillors of Cwmaman Town Council in which I update on my monthly activities and make them aware of what you, the local residents, have raised with me. I also make recommendations, based upon your input and the research I undertake, for actions that we should, or shouldn't, undertake as a Council.
I take the lead on Community Development focused projects (such as Amman Valley MakerSpace, the Volunteer Hub and the Green Infrastructure Project) and hold responsibility for ensuring that Cwmaman Town Council is compliant with the requirements set-out within the Well-being of Future Generations Act.
Within this page you will find my Twitter Feed, the feed from my main Facebook Page (Cwmaman Community), copies of my monthly reports for the last 6 months and my CDO Blog.
If you would like to contact me I am based in the main council office upstairs in the Community Centre, High Street, Glanamman SA18 1DX. Please feel free to call in if you're passing and want to discuss something in relation to the community that you feel I may be able to help with. Alternatively you can email me at [email protected]amantc.org, Tweet me using @CwmDev or complete the Contact CDO form.
